"And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."
Have you heard the Sunday School question, “I’m thinking of something that lives in trees and eats nuts . . . It can be grey or brown and it has a long bushy tail . . . It chatters and sometimes flips its tail when it’s excited …” The little boy puts his hand up and says tentatively, “ It sounds like a squirrel but I’m just going to go ahead and say Jesus.”
Kids in Sunday School learn that Jesus is the answer to most questions asked and while this isn’t a great way for kids to learn, we certainly want to encourage exploring minds, there is truth to it that Jesus is the answer.
It is all about Jesus! We are made for Him. We are fulfilled in Him. The best thing we can do in life is to worship Him.
The Westminster Catechism states “The chief aim of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.”
When we fall in love with Jesus we find purpose and life in a way that was never imaginable before. Life has a meaning and richness.
We, the church, his bride! So, no the answer is not a squirrel, it’s Jesus!
