"you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:5
My husband and I are about to embark on building a house. The number of different choices is paralysing us. There are just too many decisions to be made! So instead of making a choice we don’t choose anything.
Does anyone else have this issue?
Thank goodness God doesn’t get paralysed with choice.
He made each one of us and he says we are living stones. We are part of the church! We don’t attend church. We are the church!
With all our foibles, with all our crazy notions, God uses us. And he makes something beautiful from all our small offerings.
This is a completely different way to doing things than if I was in charge. If I was in charge I would put the best and brightest in places of authority and work my way downwards. Type A personality and all that.
Well God does things differently. Yes, he uses the best and the brightest but he also uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. He also uses the little old lady and the young child. In fact he has a plan and a purpose for each one of us. No matter our age, stage or ability.
God takes us, warts us all and together fashions us into a spiritual house he can live in and uses to bless our world.
So let’s not worry about who is the best and brightest but instead be available to what God wants to do in and through us.
